Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi received a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted her warmly upon her arrival. The leaders are set to engage in the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit-level talks to enhance bilateral cooperation and discuss global issues.
Takaichi, on a three-day official visit to India, emphasized the significance of Japan-India collaboration amidst the current international scenario. She expressed her focus on strengthening strategic partnership, economic security cooperation, and business collaboration between the two countries. Takaichi highlighted the joint economic forum involving over 150 Japanese companies to boost bilateral cooperation.
The Japanese Prime Minister stressed the shared responsibility of India and Japan in upholding peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. She anticipated discussions with Prime Minister Modi on realizing a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) vision. Takaichi’s visit aims to deepen personal trust and enhance cooperation through the Quad framework. Additionally, she is scheduled to participate in a business forum during her first official visit to India.
