Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has embarked on a three-day visit to India for the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit in New Delhi. Takaichi emphasized the significance of Japan’s partnership with India amidst global uncertainties, citing shared values and strategic interests between the two nations.
Before her departure, Takaichi addressed the media, underscoring the increasing importance of collaboration with India in the face of international uncertainties. She mentioned the participation of over 150 members from Japan’s business community to enhance Japan-India cooperation through public-private partnerships for a robust economy.
Scheduled to arrive in New Delhi later in the evening, Takaichi will receive a Ceremonial Reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday morning. She is set to hold the India-Japan Annual Summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review and bolster bilateral cooperation across various sectors and discuss mutual regional and global concerns.
During her visit, Takaichi will also participate in a business forum, marking her first official trip to India since assuming office. The aim of the visit is to further strengthen economic cooperation through investment, innovation, and areas like energy and economic security, aligning with the Japan-India Joint Vision for the next decade.
