Jasmine Shekar started the new season strongly by clinching victory at the Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT) 2026 opening leg held at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club in Mumbai. The 20-year-old golfer from Bengaluru secured a wire-to-wire win with an impressive 5-under 65, finishing at 8-under 202 and claiming a four-shot victory over Ridhima Dilawari.

With consistent rounds of 67-70-65, Jasmine maintained her lead throughout the tournament, increasing it from one shot on the first day to four shots by the end. She was the sole player to achieve par or better scores across all three days on the Par-70 course.

Jasmine received a winner’s cheque of Rs.2.30 lakh from the total prize money of Rs.17 lakh, while Ridhima earned Rs.1.70 lakh for securing the second position. Lavanya Jadon, finishing third, took home Rs.1.40 lakh.

It marked Jasmine’s fourth victory on the Hero WPG Tour since turning professional in 2023. Her win streak includes two victories in 2024, one in 2025, and now a successful start to the 2026 season. Additionally, her consistent performance has seen her progress from sixth place in her rookie year to third place in the previous season on the Order of Merit.

Amateur Zara Anand, posting a score of 1-over 211, claimed the third spot after rounds of 73-69-69, while Lavanya Jadon and Kashika Misra secured the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. The upcoming event will be the Tour’s second leg at Kalhaar Blues & Greens in Ahmedabad, scheduled from January 21 to 23, 2026.
