Jatinder Singh will once again captain Oman in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026, with Vinayak Shukla appointed as his deputy. The team has made five changes to their 15-member squad from the Asia Cup. Jatinder, Oman’s top T20 run-scorer, missed the previous T20 World Cup selection but returns as the most experienced player.
Oman, set to participate in their fourth ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, aims to leave a mark in Group B alongside Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Zimbabwe. The team secured qualification through the ICC Asia-EAP Qualifier, finishing second behind Nepal. Their campaign kicks off against Zimbabwe on February 9 in Colombo.
The 20-team tournament, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, will span 29 days across eight venues. Oman’s journey includes 40 group matches from February 7 to 20, leading to the Super Eights phase starting on February 21. The top four teams from the Super Eights will advance to the knockout stages, with the semi-finals in Kolkata/Colombo and Mumbai, culminating in the final on March 8 in Ahmedabad/Colombo.
