The Janata Dal (United) has expelled Arvind Kumar Singh, also known as Chhotu Singh, the General Secretary of the Bihar State Citizens’ Council, from the party’s primary membership for six years. This action was taken by JD(U) State President Umesh Kushwaha due to alleged anti-party activities. Chhotu Singh’s expulsion follows reported disagreements with the party leadership, particularly after being excluded from the state executive team led by Umesh Kushwaha.
Chhotu Singh’s dissatisfaction escalated when he was not included in the newly formed state executive team, leading to a confrontation with JD(U) National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha. Sources revealed that he was subsequently prevented from attending official party events and ministerial public grievance hearings. Chhotu Singh, a close associate of senior JD(U) leader Ashok Choudhary, has a history of differences within the party, having resigned from the state executive committee years ago over an alleged denial of a Legislative Council ticket.
Despite his expulsion, Chhotu Singh has not publicly commented on the party’s decision. Instead, he shared news of his uncle’s passing on social media. This disciplinary action coincides with JD(U) State President Umesh Kushwaha’s announcement of a new state committee comprising various office-bearers, including Vice-Presidents, General Secretaries, Secretaries, heads of party cells, and spokespersons.
