Hollywood actor Jim Carrey is teaming up with Ron Howard for the sequel to ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’. The original film was a massive success, grossing over $350 million at the box office. Jim Carrey, who played the Grinch, is set to return, along with Howard as the director and Brian Grazer as the producer.
According to reports, discussions are ongoing for the sequel, with the outcome still uncertain. Alec Berg, known for his work on ‘Barry’ and ‘Silicon Valley’, is slated to write the script, alongside Jeff Schaffer and David Mandel, all experienced from ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’. Despite being less active recently, Carrey will also reprise his role as Dr. Robotnik in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 4’ in 2027.
Carrey has expressed willingness to revisit the role of the Grinch, albeit preferring motion capture over the challenging makeup process. Reflecting on his experience, Carrey mentioned the discomfort of the heavy makeup during filming, emphasizing his desire for a more flexible approach.
