J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board’s Yatri Niwas in Srinagar for an on-site inspection. He oversaw the ongoing construction and facilities for pilgrims at Pantha Chowk. Sinha urged officials to speed up the work for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Sinha also checked the arrangements for a special sound-and-light show dedicated to Baba Barfani. During his visit, he was accompanied by key officials including the CEO of the Shrine Board and senior police officers. The annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave shrine is set to begin on July 3 and conclude on August 28.
This pilgrimage, lasting 57 days, coincides with the Shravan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan festivals. The cave shrine, located at a height of 8,880 meters, features an ice stalagmite structure linked to Lord Shiva’s mythical powers. Devotees can reach the shrine via the traditional Pahalgam route or the shorter Baltal route.
