J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha stressed the importance of religious harmony as a foundation for a strong society, a strong J&K, and a developed India. Speaking at an Interfaith Dialogue for Harmony in Baramulla, organized by the Save Youth Save Future Foundation, he praised the Foundation’s efforts in promoting a drug-free environment in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sinha acknowledged the dedicated work of young volunteers who have taken on the responsibility of shaping a better future for J&K. He highlighted the campaign’s role in building trust within families and institutions, boosting youth confidence, and showcasing the potential of self-reliant societies in overcoming challenges.
The Lt Governor underlined the historical legacy of harmony and brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir, citing the teachings of saints, Sufis, and Rishis who emphasized love, compassion, and unity across faiths. He emphasized that the region’s rishi-sufi tradition promotes inclusivity and shared heritage among all citizens, regardless of religious affiliations.
Sinha reiterated that social and religious harmony is pivotal for societal progress and economic prosperity. He called for equal respect for all religions to ensure a brighter future for generations to come, emphasizing the need to foster goodwill, eradicate poverty, and address issues like drug addiction. Encouraging youth to have faith in themselves, he urged for unity and trust among diverse communities in India.
During his visit, the Lt Governor also engaged with public delegations, promising appropriate action on their concerns.
