J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat announced a shift in the police’s counter-terror tactics towards dense forests and rugged mountains to combat terrorists. Speaking at a police constable passing-out parade in Reasi district, DGP Prabhat emphasized the intensified operations in remote areas where terrorists are regrouping. The focus has moved to jungles and upper regions to locate and eliminate terrorist hideouts.
The J&K Police is actively involved in engagements with terrorists in Udhampur and Kathua districts, aiming to thwart infiltration attempts by hostile elements from across the border. Referring to ‘Operation Mahadev’ last year, security forces successfully neutralized three Pakistani terrorists responsible for the deaths of 26 civilians in the Baisaran area. The police pursued the terrorists deep into the forest to ensure their elimination.
DGP Prabhat highlighted the J&K Police’s community outreach initiatives and interactions with local residents throughout the Union Territory. He commended the new recruits joining the force, urging them to uphold their responsibilities diligently. Despite acknowledging the challenges ahead, he expressed confidence in the recruits’ ability to contribute significantly to maintaining peace and security in the region.
