Srinagar, Aug 1 (IANS) In compliance with the Constitution of India, the J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on Saturday submitted its 67th Annual Report to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
An official statement said, “In compliance with Article 323(2) of the Constitution of India, JKPSC today submitted its 67th Annual Report for the year 2025–26 to the Lieutenant Governor at Lok Bhavan, Srinagar.”
The delegation of Members of the Commission – Rajiv Singh and Asaf Mehmood Sagar – along with Secretary Bashir Ahmad Dar, was led by Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary.
The report highlights significant administrative reforms, accelerated selection timelines and robust recruitment drives across key administrative and judicial cadres in J&K.
The Lieutenant Governor commended JKPSC’s commitment to fairness and speed, while upholding meritocracy and integrity. Chairman Choudhary briefed him on structural and technological interventions aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency.
The report outlines achievements including selections made, Departmental Promotion Committee meetings held, promotions effected and recruitment rules approved. In 2025–26, JKPSC made 1,152 selections against 1,263 posts referred to it, including the J&K Administrative Service, J&K Police Service and J&K Accounts Service.
The Commission also made selections against 39 posts of Junior Judge in the Subordinate Judiciary, and faculty posts in Medical Colleges, Degree Colleges and other Gazetted posts.
It held 29 Departmental Promotion Committee meetings and cleared 508 officers for promotion. In rule-making, the Commission gave assent to recruitment rules of two departments.
Highlights of the Annual Report 2025–26: against 1,263 posts, the Commission received 94,546 applications; conducted 52 written tests/Preliminary examinations and two Mains examinations; made 1,152 selections against 1,263 posts referred; held 29 Departmental Promotion Committee meetings and cleared 508 officers; conducted three departmental examinations with 813 candidates appearing; adopted 100 per cent written-examination-based recruitment to ensure transparency; introduced “On-Screen Evaluation” for error-free assessment and timely results; and implemented SMS service to inform candidates about examinations and interviews.
