J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Syed Darakhshan Andrabi announced plans to reconstruct the Hazrat Syed Janbaaz Wali shrine in Baramulla town after a visit to the site. The ongoing Heritage Restoration and Conservation Project at the shrine was inspected by Andrabi following concerns raised by residents and devotees about missing components in the restoration work.
Residents and devotees had repeatedly highlighted crucial elements overlooked in the project, prompting Andrabi to pledge immediate reconstruction of the Shrine Sanctum and other essential works. The Chairperson assured that the reconstruction would respect the shrine’s sanctity and heritage value while meeting the expectations of all stakeholders.
The decision to undertake the reconstruction was well-received by the public, with many expressing gratitude for Andrabi’s swift action in safeguarding religious and heritage assets. The move was lauded as a people-centric approach that balances heritage conservation with community sentiments.
Andrabi conducted a review meeting at the DC Office, Baramulla, to assess the project’s status and progress. The meeting, attended by various officials, aimed to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the reconstruction and conservation efforts.
