Joy and celebration filled the atmosphere at Eden Gardens during India’s tense victory over the West Indies in the T20 World Cup Super 8 match. The ICC chairman, Jay Shah, and BCCI officials like Mithun Manhas, Devajit Saikia, and Rajeev Shukla were present, enjoying the vibrant ambiance.

BCCI secretary Saikia captured the joyful moments at Edens in pictures, showing ICC chair Shah seated in the BCCI corporate box next to CAB president Sourav Ganguly, who interacted with fans and signed autographs.

India’s win over the West Indies secured their place in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-finals, setting up a thrilling clash with England. The match is scheduled for March 5 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, following a solid performance by the defending champions in Kolkata.

The high-scoring game saw the West Indies post 195/4, challenging India on a batting-friendly track at the Eden Gardens. However, India’s strong chase, led by Samson’s unbeaten 97, resulted in a historic score of 199/5 in 19.2 overs, marking the highest run-chase score by an Indian in a T20 World Cup match.
