A wave of joy spread through Ranchi as two minor siblings, a five-year-old boy, and his four-year-old sister, who were abducted 12 days ago, were found safe. The children were rescued from Ahmednagar in Ramgarh district, and two suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping. Chief Minister Hemant Soren praised the Jharkhand Police for their successful rescue operation and vowed to intensify efforts against human trafficking.
CM Soren expressed relief at the children’s rescue and commended the police for their swift action in linking the case to a similar incident in another state. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into such cases and promised firm action against criminal gangs involved in human trafficking. The Director General of Police, Tadasha Mishra, credited the coordinated efforts of the police force for the successful rescue and announced a reward for the team involved in the operation.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the kidnapping is part of a larger interstate human trafficking network, and efforts are underway to identify and bring all involved individuals to justice. The breakthrough in the case was made possible by the vigilance of local youths in Ahmednagar, who recognized the missing children and alerted the authorities promptly. The children had disappeared on January 2 while on their way to a nearby store, sparking widespread concern and protests in the area.
Political parties, social organizations, and residents celebrated the safe return of the siblings, expressing relief and joy. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights had also taken note of the case and requested a report from the Jharkhand DGP. The community in Ranchi came together to celebrate the children’s rescue, marking the end of a distressing ordeal.
