Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for allegedly making a mockery of the Constitution. Rama Rao condemned their defense of two BRS MLAs who had defected to Congress, calling it shameful.
He accused both Gandhi and Reddy of undermining and disrespecting the Constitution at every turn. Rama Rao expressed disappointment in the Congress party’s actions, stating that their interference with the Speaker’s office to protect the defecting MLAs showcased moral bankruptcy.
The BRS leader emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional values and criticized the ruling party for avoiding by-elections in the constituencies of the defecting MLAs. He vowed to continue fighting against those who disregarded the people’s verdict and the Chief Minister’s actions.
The Telangana Assembly Speaker, Gaddam Prasad Kumar, dismissed petitions for the disqualification of two BRS MLAs who had defected to Congress. This decision follows the dismissal of petitions for disqualification of seven out of 10 BRS MLAs previously. Speaker Kumar is yet to rule on the disqualification plea of one MLA, with two more cases pending.
