Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao urged the Congress party leadership to investigate the source within the party who leaked details about cases involving Meenakshi Natarajan to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders. He emphasized the need for the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, to identify and address those undermining the party internally. Rao held the Congress accountable for Natarajan’s nomination rejection, criticizing the party for involving political opponents in its internal issues.
Rama Rao suggested that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy should consider initiating a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the matter. He accused the Congress of a history of trading important positions for financial gains and alleged that the current Chief Minister also secured his position through similar arrangements. Rao strongly condemned Reddy’s comments likening Hitler and war-related destruction, expressing concern over such statements from an elected leader.
Expressing disappointment with Minister Sridhar Babu’s defense of the Chief Minister’s remarks, Rao criticized the government’s handling of Hyderabad’s monsoon preparedness and urban infrastructure management. He highlighted the importance of infrastructure projects implemented during the BRS government and criticized the current administration for neglecting maintenance and reviews. Rao also raised concerns about the cancellation of the Airport Metro project, attributing it to increased traffic congestion and inconvenience to commuters.
