Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has urged an investigation into Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s alleged ‘benami’ company. Rao claimed that KLSR operates as a front entity for the Chief Minister, providing evidence to support his assertions. He highlighted that despite insolvency proceedings, significant financial transactions continued in the company, prompting the Supreme Court to seek clarifications from the Telangana government.
K.T. Rama Rao accused Revanth Reddy of orchestrating a political diversion by forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Davos regarding an alleged telephone-tapping case. He demanded an immediate inquiry into the company, calling for a halt to its operations until the investigation concludes. Rao also urged for the blacklisting of the firm and the cancellation of contracts obtained without proper eligibility.
The BRS leader mentioned past raids on KLSR in 2018, revealing links between the company and Revanth Reddy. Despite entering insolvency proceedings, Rao alleged that the Chief Minister facilitated the awarding of significant government contracts to the company after assuming office. He further claimed that Income-Tax raids in 2018 unveiled transactions between Sai Mourya Estates and KLSR, implicating Revanth Reddy’s relatives.
K.T. Rama Rao disclosed that disputes between KLSR and another company in 2023 led to insolvency proceedings, restricting financial transactions. He accused Revanth Reddy of influencing favorable rulings for the company, citing financial dealings with Sai Mourya, linked to the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law. Rao reiterated that despite insolvency, KLSR secured government projects worth around Rs 6,000 crore under the current administration, including various development schemes and projects.
