Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao strongly criticized the ruling Congress party for undemocratic actions during the recent municipal elections in Telangana. He expressed dismay over what he termed as attacks on BRS leaders and elected representatives by government and police forces. Rao condemned the reported attempts to kidnap elected officials and the alleged interference of ministers and MLAs in the selection process of chairpersons.

K.T. Rama Rao highlighted instances of police misconduct in various towns across Telangana during the election process. He accused the Congress party of resorting to illegal methods, including kidnapping candidates, and criticized the police for allegedly supporting such actions. Rao emphasized the need for immediate intervention by the state DGP to address the situation and ensure strict action against those involved in the reported irregularities.

The BRS leader demanded a comprehensive investigation by the State Election Commission into the alleged irregularities and misconduct during the municipal elections. He called for the registration of cases against individuals responsible for kidnappings and attacks, stressing the importance of upholding democratic principles. Rao also raised concerns over the postponement of elections in some areas and urged swift action to protect the integrity of the electoral process.
