Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao expressed concern over the Congress rule in Telangana, likening it to the days of Emergency. He demanded the immediate release of two journalists from a Telugu television channel who were arrested.

Rama Rao criticized the Director General Police (DGP) for treating journalists as criminals and questioned the necessity of conducting midnight arrests. He urged the police to follow proper legal procedures instead of resorting to intimidation tactics.

The BRS leader also raised questions about the source of the leak in the incident and accused a pro-government TV channel of biased reporting. He called out Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, highlighting the alleged violation of constitutional rights by the Telangana police.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner C. V. Sajjanar confirmed the arrest of two reporters from a Telugu television news channel for airing a defamatory story about a minister and a woman IAS officer. Sajjanar emphasized the importance of journalist cooperation in the investigation and warned that all accused individuals would be apprehended.
