Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao has penned a letter to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, pressing for clarity on the Congress government’s stance regarding the revival of the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) plant in Adilabad.
Rama Rao emphasized that the revival of the Adilabad CCI plant goes beyond industrial concerns, impacting the livelihoods of numerous families, the industrial prospects of Adilabad district, and the overall economic progress of Telangana. He highlighted a recent meeting in New Delhi where a BRS delegation, accompanied by CCI Sadhana Samithi representatives, met Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H. D. Kumaraswamy on July 15 to advocate for the plant’s revival.
During the meeting, it was communicated that the revival of the Adilabad CCI plant could proceed if the Telangana government contributed Rs 250 crore, a step that has not yet been taken. Rama Rao criticized the State government for its inaction over the past two-and-a-half years, accusing it of failing to engage constructively with the Centre or present a concrete plan for the industry’s revival.
