K. T. Rama Rao Welcomes High Court Verdict on Kaleshwaram Project

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao praised the recent High Court ruling, stating that it has exposed false propaganda against the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. He emphasized that the judgment reaffirms the importance of truth prevailing over politically motivated narratives. The verdict was seen as a victory for Telangana’s farmers and citizens who have benefited from the project’s irrigation support and agricultural development.

K. T. Rama Rao criticized the Congress party for misleading the public about the Kaleshwaram project, branding it as a failure through false narratives and exaggerated claims. He commended the High Court for addressing these allegations and providing a decisive response to what he called reckless propaganda for political gain. The Kaleshwaram project, according to Rao, is a significant engineering feat with multiple barrages, reservoirs, pump houses, and an extensive canal network benefiting several districts in Telangana.

Regarding the Medigadda barrage, K. T. Rama Rao clarified that only two pillars needed repairs, with minimal costs compared to the overall project expenditure. He accused the Congress and BJP of politicizing minor issues to tarnish the project’s image and that of former Chief Minister KCR. Rao urged authorities to expedite repairs and resume water lifting operations to meet farmers’ needs for the upcoming agricultural season.
