Actor-producer Kamaal R. Khan, known for his critical views, has been placed in police custody due to a firearm-related case. He alleges that his outspoken criticism of the Hindi film industry has made him a target for retaliation. KRK’s lawyer stated that an unknown individual fired shots at two separate locations, with the incident possibly linked to KRK’s public commentary on social media.
KRK asserts that he is unfairly singled out by the film industry. A court in Bandra has extended his police custody until January 27. During the court proceedings, it was disclosed that two shots were fired, but the reason behind the shooting remains unclear. The incident, which occurred in Mumbai’s Oshiwara area, involved bullets hitting a residential building without causing any injuries.
Mumbai Police arrested KRK in connection with the shooting incident. Investigation findings suggested that the shots may have originated from KRK’s nearby residence. KRK admitted to firing the shots from his licensed firearm while testing it, aiming at a mangrove area, but the bullets veered off course due to strong winds, hitting the building unintentionally.
