Kamal Haasan recently visited Tamil Nadu’s new Chief Minister, Vijay, advocating for an obligatory 8-week OTT release window for all projects in the state. The actor emphasized that this move would benefit theater owners and distributors in the competitive industry. Haasan, through his official social media handle, listed six proposals he discussed with the CM to enhance the Tamil film sector.
Haasan’s demands included the launch of a Tamil Nadu Government OTT Platform for local content, the elimination of a 4% local entertainment tax, and the establishment of an anti-piracy unit within the Tamil Nadu Police Cyber Crime Department. Additionally, he proposed allowing five daily film shows in the state and implementing a film production incentive scheme to boost Tamil Nadu’s film production status.
In a recent tweet, Haasan shared his positive meeting with Chief Minister Vijay, praising the CM’s vision for Tamil Nadu’s progress. Notably, following Vijay’s appointment as Chief Minister on May 10, Haasan had previously congratulated him on social media, expressing hope for the state’s prosperity under his leadership.
