Kannada actor Sathish Ninasam, starring in the upcoming Kannada period social drama ‘The Rise of Ashoka’ directed by Vinod V Dhondale, shared that the movie involved around 1000 actors and was filmed over 138 days. The storyline, set in the seventies on the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border, follows a young boy aspiring to break free from traditional family obligations and pursue a career in government service.
Recreating the seventies era posed challenges due to modern developments in villages, according to Ninasam. The film required authentic settings with thatched houses and rural landscapes, necessitating meticulous attention to detail for each character. The production extensively utilized computer-generated imagery (CG) to enhance visuals, with over 1400 CG shots seamlessly integrated to maintain realism.
Sathish Ninasam highlighted the extensive use of CG to modify scenes, such as expanding fields and removing anachronistic elements like power lines. The actor emphasized the realistic execution of CG, ensuring a seamless blend of real environments and digital enhancements. ‘The Rise of Ashoka’ also stars actress Sapthami Gowda alongside a talented ensemble cast, with Lavith handling cinematography and Poornachandra Tejaswi composing the music.
