Former India captain Kapil Dev visited Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Bhopal to discuss sports development initiatives. Chief Minister Yadav briefed Kapil Dev on the state’s efforts to enhance the sports landscape, including promoting various sports like cricket. He emphasized the state’s commitment to providing national and international exposure to players from Madhya Pradesh.
Kapil Dev praised the state’s endeavors to boost sports activities, acknowledging the significant work being done in promoting sports, especially cricket, in Madhya Pradesh. The former cricketing legend expressed his support for the state’s sports development and offered assistance in nurturing sports talent, particularly in cricket.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Yadav highlighted the government’s focus on creating a conducive environment for all sports and ensuring sports become a viable career option for the youth. He underscored the importance of supporting a diverse range of sports, including hockey, athletics, wrestling, and other Olympic disciplines, alongside cricket.
Madhya Pradesh has been actively enhancing its sports infrastructure, with the establishment of new stadiums, training facilities, and rural sports programs across various districts. The state government has also introduced incentives for athletes and coaches who achieve success in national and international competitions.
