Discussing the importance of infrastructure for the sport’s development, Johl compared golf to other sports and stressed the need for state governments to invest in golf facilities as a means of boosting the economy, tourism, and sports in the region. Looking ahead, Johl highlighted upcoming events like the DP World India Championship and the Asian Games, aiming to provide Indian players with exposure and practice opportunities.
Johl expressed optimism about the future of Indian golf, mentioning the plans for a significant tournament at the Delhi Golf Club with the support of DP World. He also shared his admiration for young cricket talent in the IPL, praising Rajasthan Royals’ Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and expressing excitement for the IPL final between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
