Actress Karisma Kapoor recently shared her initial uncertainties regarding the success of her film “Haseena Maan Jaayegi.” During an episode of ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5,’ she disclosed expressing concerns to director David Dhawan about a particular shot that she feared might impact the film’s performance. However, to her relief, the issue went unnoticed by the audience.
Karisma reminisced about a conversation with David Dhawan where she questioned her role in the film shot in Goa. Dhawan assured her of two songs in the movie and encouraged her to wait and watch the outcome. The iconic song “What Is Mobile Number” was shot in a day, showcasing the magic of cinema and Indian dance.
She highlighted the contrast between the film’s Goan setting and the dance sequence shot at The Retreat Hotel in Madh Island Resort. Despite her initial concerns about a specific shot potentially affecting the film’s success, no one ever noticed the detail, as she revealed to Dhawan.
Directed by David Dhawan, “Haseena Maan Jaayegi” featured a star-studded cast including Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, and Pooja Batra, with Anupam Kher, Kader Khan, Aruna Irani, and Paresh Rawal in supporting roles. The film was released on Karisma Kapoor’s 25th birthday on June 25, 1999.
