Karnataka BJP alleged on Friday that the state’s progress has been ignored due to an ongoing power struggle between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka expressed concerns over the neglect of development, citing a leadership dispute causing confusion in Karnataka.
Shivakumar has asserted a power-sharing agreement with Siddaramaiah, who in turn has defended himself, stating he is being targeted for his background. Ashoka remarked that the situation has led to a state of disarray within the Congress party, labeling it a “comedy” that people are enjoying. He criticized the government for its handling of guarantee schemes, mentioning issues with the Yuva Nidhi and Shakti schemes.
Addressing the delay in government job appointments and protests by aspirants, Ashoka accused the government of playing with students’ futures. He highlighted discrepancies in the recruitment process, urging clarity on pending appointments. Additionally, he raised concerns about the construction of a cricket stadium, alleging ulterior motives behind the choice of location and questioning the government’s priorities.
