Karnataka BJP President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra criticized the Congress-led state government for spreading misinformation about Central government schemes, causing confusion among the public. Vijayendra emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s investment in rural development through the VB–G RAM G scheme. He pledged to counter Congress propaganda by educating people at the grassroots level alongside JD(S).
Vijayendra welcomed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s decision to hold a special Assembly session to discuss the VB–G RAM G scheme. He expressed readiness for a debate in the House to compare the achievements under Modi’s leadership with the Congress’ MNREGA initiatives. The BJP leader defended the massive investment in the scheme, aiming to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Gram Swaraj and ensure benefits for the underprivileged.
Questioning the Congress’ past focus on scams rather than schemes, Vijayendra highlighted the increase in guaranteed workdays under the current government. He reassured that decision-making powers at the gram panchayat level remain intact, refuting claims of central authority over local governance. Vijayendra underscored the scheme’s goal of holistic rural development and criticized the Congress for hindering national progress with alleged scams during its long tenure.
