Karnataka BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plea for fuel conservation amid global economic challenges and escalating fuel prices. Vijayendra, while in Bengaluru for official duties, commended the PM’s initiative to reduce convoy vehicles, urging citizens to follow suit. Vijayendra, traveling by Metro for party engagements, also criticized opposition parties for not comprehending the economic situation and accused the Congress government in Karnataka of raising fuel taxes. He questioned the rationale behind the fuel price hikes and defended the Central government’s actions, stating that decisions were made in the public’s interest. Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka supported the Modi-led government’s efforts to stabilize fuel prices and criticized the Congress government for burdening citizens with price hikes on essential commodities.
Ashoka highlighted the stability in fuel prices maintained by the Modi government despite global challenges, contrasting the situation with other countries experiencing significant hikes. He further accused the Congress government in Karnataka of raising prices on various essentials, alleging misleading public guarantee schemes. Ashoka criticized the state government for what he termed as “daylight robbery” through repeated price increases, contrasting it with their public offerings.
