Karnataka BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra revealed that the party’s State Executive meeting is set for Thursday at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru. The meeting, to be inaugurated by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, is anticipated to draw over 1,250 delegates. Delegates from all over the state will start arriving at 8:30 a.m., with a flag-hoisting ceremony scheduled for 9:45 a.m.
Former Chief Ministers like B.S. Yediyurappa, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Jagadish Shettar, and Basavaraj Bommai are expected to participate. Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi, V. Somanna, and Shobha Karandlaje, along with MPs, MLAs, and Members of the Legislative Council, will also be present. Vijayendra highlighted upcoming by-elections in Bagalkote and Davanagere South Assembly constituencies, with a potential by-election in Bagepalli.
He mentioned impending elections for the Legislative Council, Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat, and other local bodies in the next few months, terming it an “election season” for the party. Discussions at the meeting will focus on strengthening the party organization and gearing up for electoral challenges ahead. Vijayendra criticized the current Congress-led government for falling short of public expectations and stated that people are disenchanted with its performance.
Strategies to counter what he labeled as a corrupt and anti-people government will be deliberated upon, with resolutions expected to be passed during the executive meeting. Vijayendra acknowledged farmer leader and former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa’s 50 years in public service and his pivotal role in expanding the BJP’s reach across Karnataka. Yediyurappa will be honored during the meeting for his contributions.
Vijayendra praised Yediyurappa as a guiding light for party members and credited senior leaders like late Ananth Kumar for solidifying the BJP’s presence in the state. The party’s future organizational plans will also be on the agenda for discussion at the executive meeting.
