The Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has requested the Chief Secretary to take strict action against individuals who verbally abuse and try to harm government officials. Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka handed a memorandum to Karnataka Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh concerning this issue. Ashoka emphasized the need for safeguarding officials under the current administration.

He highlighted an incident where Congress leader Rajeev Gowda verbally abused a female officer, with Minister K.H. Muniyappa justifying the behavior. Ashoka expressed concerns over the lack of protection for officials and criticized the alleged inaction against those responsible for various incidents, including suicides and threats against officials.

Ashoka further stressed the importance of ensuring the safety of officials and criticized the deteriorating law and order situation. He mentioned upcoming protests and criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s accusations regarding EVMs. Ashoka also raised concerns about Bangladeshi residents on the voter list and accused Congress of exploiting them for votes.
