Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched the 7th Bengaluru GAFX – Games, Animation and Visual Effects Conference with the theme ‘Evolution Reloaded.’ He highlighted Karnataka’s leading role in the AVGC-XR evolution through policy support, talent development, and global partnerships. Siddaramaiah emphasized the potential for the sector to create 20 lakh jobs in the next five years, spanning areas like design, coding, storytelling, AI modeling, and production management.
Bengaluru, known as a hub where art meets algorithms and creativity meets capital, was chosen as the event’s host city. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of integrating AVGC-XR courses in educational institutions to enhance structured skill development. He outlined Karnataka’s vision to nurture a future-ready talent pool, bolster production infrastructure, support startups, and expand global collaborations beyond Bengaluru.
Siddaramaiah underlined the significance of AI in the creative industry, cautioning that while AI boosts productivity, it should complement human creativity rather than replace it. He advocated for ethical AI use, protection of intellectual property, data privacy, and fair compensation for creators. The Chief Minister lauded Bengaluru’s historical role in technological advancements and highlighted the AVGC-XR sector’s pivotal role in shaping the digital economy.
