Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized PM Narendra Modi’s recent speech in Bengaluru, questioning the role from which he spoke. Siddaramaiah accused PM Modi of reflecting the failure of the BJP-led Central government in his address, rather than targeting the Karnataka Congress government. He further criticized PM Modi for allegedly diminishing the dignity of the Prime Minister’s office with speeches filled with lies, hatred, and jealousy.
Siddaramaiah highlighted that previous Prime Ministers refrained from using street-style language or attacking opposition parties like PM Modi. He also questioned the economic progress claims of the Centre, pointing out the rising prices of essential commodities and attributing them to a confused foreign policy. Siddaramaiah emphasized Karnataka’s economic performance under the Congress government, showcasing its high per capita income, GDP growth rate, and contribution to GST collections.
The Chief Minister accused the BJP of betraying regional parties that had previously allied with them, alleging that many opposition leaders were coerced into joining the BJP. Siddaramaiah criticized the internal situation of the BJP in Karnataka, likening it to crabs trapped in a basket, with leaders undermining each other and engaging in political self-destruction.
