Stating that Reddy had sent his resignation via WhatsApp, Shivakumar assured the media that the situation had been amicably settled, highlighting his friendship with the minister. Responding to criticism from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shivakumar expressed gratitude for Modi’s well-wishes and emphasized the government’s commitment to state development.
Shivakumar disclosed discussions with AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala on the matter. Sources revealed Reddy’s discontent over the Bengaluru Development portfolio allocation, prompting assurances from Surjewala to address the issue with the Chief Minister.
Minister for PWD Satish Jarkiholi, in a meeting with CM Shivakumar, advocated for Reddy’s concerns and emphasized party unity. Health Minister U.T. Khader stressed the importance of loyalty and commitment within the Congress party, prioritizing collective interests over individual ambitions.
