Karnataka Congress President B.K. Hariprasad criticized the BJP for allegedly trying to influence the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He accused the BJP of using Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy as a tool in their political campaign against the Congress.
Hariprasad responded to claims by Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and H.D. Kumaraswamy, who accused the Congress of irregularities in the voter enumeration process. He stated that efforts were being made to exclude around 50 lakh genuine voters from the electoral rolls, despite already mapping around 5.65 lakh voters in Karnataka.
Hariprasad alleged that the BJP was utilizing Kumaraswamy for its political motives and claimed that the party had a history of weakening regional parties to target the Congress. He further criticized the BJP for allegedly resorting to using Kumaraswamy as a political instrument instead of facing the Congress directly.
Responding to allegations made by Kumaraswamy, Hariprasad mentioned that any procedural lapses would be looked into by the Election Commission. He also accused the BJP and RSS of electoral malpractice, claiming they had experience in casting votes in the names of deceased individuals. Hariprasad emphasized that the Congress never engaged in illegal methods to win elections.
