Amid the ongoing leadership tussle in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister and Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar mentioned that the future might see a Cabinet reshuffle or a power-sharing arrangement in the state. Shivakumar, a contender for the Chief Minister’s post, has previously discussed a power-sharing pact with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. When asked about the possibilities, he stated that only time will provide the answers.
Addressing the media at his Bengaluru residence, Shivakumar refrained from disclosing details about a separate meeting with Priyanka Gandhi, emphasizing that time will reveal all. Responding to AICC General Secretary and MP K.C. Venugopal’s remarks on the Chief Minister’s post, Shivakumar acknowledged that the decision rests with the party and the MLAs.
Regarding the upcoming by-elections, Shivakumar mentioned gathering reports from various levels and consulting with party leaders. He highlighted the importance of the party’s victory and the collaborative decision-making process with the Chief Minister. The distribution of the ‘B’ form for the elections will align with the directives from the party’s high command.
When questioned about potential candidates for the by-elections, Shivakumar stressed the party’s interests over familial considerations, emphasizing the need for unity and adherence to the party’s strategies. He underscored the significance of collective opinions and worker feedback in decision-making processes.
Discussing criticisms from Ananth Kumar’s daughter regarding Karnataka’s involvement in the Assam elections, Shivakumar responded humorously, mentioning discussions with leaders and upcoming campaign plans. He also addressed demands for a Cabinet reshuffle, noting the Chief Minister’s acknowledgment of vacancies and the natural aspirations of individuals to become ministers.
