Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President, D.K. Shivakumar, expressed gratitude towards party workers, leaders, and voters for their support in the bye-elections. He highlighted that the election results indicate public trust in the government’s welfare programs and governance. Shivakumar emphasized that the people’s confidence in the government’s efficient administration and guarantee schemes has been evident through the election outcomes.

Shivakumar, speaking from the KPCC office in Bengaluru and Kanakapura, acknowledged the efforts of party workers and office-bearers in both constituencies where elections were held. He credited the success to the dedicated work put in by the party members who tirelessly campaigned in every village. The Deputy CM also mentioned the warm reception of welfare schemes like Gruha Lakshmi, Gruha Jyothi, Anna Bhagya, Shakti, and Yuva Nidhi by the people, which further solidified their support.

In reference to the election in Davanagere South, Shivakumar expressed confidence in victory despite facing technical issues and pending vote counts. He highlighted the lead of around 4,900 votes and the positive outlook for their candidate’s win. The Deputy CM also addressed the success in Bagalkot, where the party’s candidate secured a significant victory margin of 22,332 votes, attributing it to the positive impact of guarantee schemes on rural families.

Shivakumar extended his appreciation to all supporters, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Cabinet colleagues, MLAs, party officials, and various sections of society. He emphasized the unity within the party during the election and assured that any internal matters would be addressed internally. Responding to queries about dissent and reduced vote shares, he maintained a positive outlook and emphasized the party’s commitment to service and unity.
