Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar stated that he will not discuss private conversations with party leaders publicly. Responding to media queries at the Vidhana Soudha premises, Shivakumar emphasized the need for confidentiality in his interactions with senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He highlighted that as the Karnataka Pradesh Committee (KPCC) President, it is not suitable to disclose routine protocol meetings.
Shivakumar mentioned that party leaders have encouraged their work and advised them to continue in the same manner. He shared details about ongoing programs related to NREGA and discussed the political landscape within the state BJP. Regarding his recent post about the power of prayers, Shivakumar clarified that it was not a new sentiment and had been expressed previously during an event with Vokkaliga industrialists.
Amidst viral videos and images of his private discussion with Rahul Gandhi at Mysuru airport, speculation has arisen about potential leadership changes. There are rumors that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar might be summoned to Delhi by the party high command post the Sankranti festival for leadership discussions. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge affirmed that both leaders would be called upon as needed.
Shivakumar confirmed his upcoming visit to Delhi on January 16th when questioned about his travel plans. Additionally, Senior Congress MLA Ashok Pattan disclosed that Rahul Gandhi had invited Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar to Delhi to address any leadership uncertainties. He assured that all issues would be resolved during the discussions in Delhi.
