Karnataka Home Minister, G. Parameshwara, addressed rumors of leadership struggles within the ruling Congress party, emphasizing that any decision regarding the Chief Minister’s position would be made by the party high command. Parameshwara clarified that he refrains from public statements on the matter, trusting the high command to guide the process.
Parameshwara highlighted the role of the party high command in determining leadership matters, stating that public discussions or media statements would not influence the final decision. He also mentioned the absence of a fixed tenure for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah when he assumed office after the Congress’s victory in Karnataka.
Responding to queries about demands for clarity on leadership issues, Parameshwara questioned the basis of such speculation, noting that Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar had already denied seeking a change in leadership. The Home Minister also acknowledged supportive comments from Congress MLA K.N. Rajanna, attributing them to goodwill and regional representation considerations.
