Karnataka Home Minister, G. Parameshwara, has directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate an alleged custodial death in Tumakuru district. The Minister stated that the exact cause of the death, which occurred during an investigation, is unknown, prompting the CID probe.

Parameshwara mentioned that if the death was a result of police assault, it would be revealed through the CID investigation. He emphasized that action would be taken against any personnel found responsible if the death was indeed caused by police assault. Additionally, he highlighted that the CID would conduct a thorough investigation and submit a detailed report on the matter.

In response to inquiries regarding the deaths of two minors in Hubballi while filming videos, Home Minister Parameshwara expressed concerns about youth engaging in risky activities like bike stunts and wheeling. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the police in monitoring such behaviors, especially in the early hours, and mentioned ongoing efforts to educate young individuals about the associated dangers.

The incident in Tumakuru district involved the alleged death of a man in police custody at the Huliyar police station, leading to unrest in the area. Villagers claimed that the man died due to police assault, sparking a protest outside the police station. The deceased individual was identified as Kantaraju, and the situation escalated as villagers protested against the alleged police misconduct.
