Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara visited the family of Chandan Kumar, a software professional killed in Canada, expressing condolences and stating that an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident. Chandan Kumar, a talented individual working as a project director in Canada, was the only son of his parents, making his tragic death deeply saddening.
Parameshwara mentioned that the body of Chandan Kumar has been embalmed and is expected to arrive in Canada by Saturday for friends and neighbors to pay their respects. He urged the Canadian authorities to take appropriate action and assured that the Indian High Commission is coordinating the repatriation process. Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy also extended condolences to Chandan Kumar’s family, assuring them of all necessary arrangements to bring his body back to India.
Chandan Kumar, 37, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants in Toronto on February 7. A computer science graduate from Bengaluru, he had been actively involved in promoting Kannada culture in Toronto. His family lamented that his delayed return to India may have contributed to the tragic outcome.
