Karnataka JD-S MLA Swaroop Prakash has expressed strong discontent over the inclusion of party workers’ names in the chargesheet related to the Prajwal Revanna obscene video case. He alleged that this move aims to disrupt the investigation. Prakash, addressing a press conference in Hassan, stated that they plan to discuss the issue with senior party members and may initiate a state-wide protest for justice.
After the distribution of pen drives containing alleged obscene videos, Prajwal Revanna, the main accused and grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, lost the Hassan Lok Sabha seat. Swaroop Prakash urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the case and ensure transparency. He also encouraged party workers to remain steadfast during these developments.
Expressing doubt about the impartiality of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the case, Prakash criticized the alleged political exploitation of the situation rather than a fair inquiry. He claimed that there is a deliberate effort to weaken the JD-S party and erode trust among its leaders and members. Prakash highlighted that influential individuals were omitted from the investigation while several JD-S leaders and workers unrelated to the case were implicated.
