The Karnataka Lokayukta conducted simultaneous raids at various locations across the state targeting both serving and retired government officials. In Bengaluru, officials raided the residences of the Karnataka Housing Board Additional Director and a BESCOM Assistant Executive Engineer over allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
In Kalaburagi, raids were carried out on properties associated with a retired Panchayat Raj Superintendent Engineer. Searches were conducted at five locations, including his residence in Godutai Nagar and other properties in different areas.
In Davanagere, Lokayukta officials conducted raids at 12 locations linked to three government officials. The operation covered residences and offices of the officials under investigation, led by Lokayukta SP M.S. Kaulapure.
In Hubballi, raids were conducted at four locations connected to the Chief Mechanic of the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC). The searches included his residence in Anjaneya Nagar and his office, where officials reportedly found cash amounting to Rs 40 lakh.
In Chitradurga, Lokayukta teams searched five locations linked to the Secretary of the Bayalu Seeme Development Authority, including his residence and office.
In Belagavi, searches were carried out at five locations related to a Superintending Engineer with the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL).
Meanwhile, in Chikkamagaluru, officials raided five locations associated with an Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF), including his residence, office, and a house under construction. The operation was conducted following complaints against the officer.
These raids are part of the Lokayukta’s efforts to curb corruption and address allegations of disproportionate assets among public servants in Karnataka. Further investigations are ongoing, with officials expected to disclose details of the assets and documents seized during the operations.
