Karnataka Minister for Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Rural Development, Priyank Kharge, supported the party’s decision to expel Congress Member Abdul Jabbar from the Legislative Council. Kharge emphasized that party decisions must be respected by all members, highlighting the importance of unity and adherence to party directives.

Kharge clarified that the expulsion was not arbitrary but a result of thorough internal discussions within the party. He mentioned that the reasons behind Abdul Jabbar’s expulsion, including financial issues, were communicated within the party structure. Kharge dismissed any media speculations, emphasizing that actions were based on formal information presented to the party leadership.

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee suspended Abdul Jabbar for engaging in anti-party activities during the Davanagere by-election. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar signed the suspension order, leading to Abdul Jabbar’s immediate removal from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress. The party’s decision to take disciplinary action underscores the significance of party loyalty and discipline.
