Karnataka Labour Minister Santosh S. Lad visited the family of Vivekanand Doddamani in Hubbali, where his pregnant wife was allegedly killed by her father in a suspected honor killing. The minister assured security, assistance, and compensation to the family members who were attacked and hospitalized. He promised that legal actions would be taken in response to the incident.

Minister Lad also gathered information about the victims’ medical conditions and treatment from doctors. He directed officials to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured family members. The minister, along with other officials, visited the village where the tragic incident occurred to understand the situation better.

On December 21, a man in Inanveerapur village reportedly murdered his daughter in an honor killing case. The victim’s husband, Vivekanand Doddamani, and his family were also assaulted by the girl’s father and relatives. Several family members sustained injuries during the attack.

The police investigation revealed that the victim, Manya Patil, a Lingayat, had married Vivekananda, a Dalit, from the same village. Despite initial threats of suicide from Manya, the couple got married and tried to settle in their village. However, ongoing tensions between their families led to the tragic incident.
