Karnataka’s Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, responded to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech in Bengaluru. Ashoka accused the Congress government of being hindered by internal power struggles and factional politics, which he claimed were highlighted by PM Modi’s comments on the state’s governance challenges.
Ashoka defended PM Modi’s speech, clarifying that the event at HAL Airport was a political program organized by BJP’s Karnataka unit, not an official government function. He emphasized the Prime Minister’s right to make political remarks at such events.
The BJP leader accused Siddaramaiah of hypocrisy for questioning the Prime Minister’s political conduct while engaging in similar behavior himself. Ashoka demanded answers from the Chief Minister regarding alleged power struggles within the Congress government and the prioritization of factional politics over governance.
