India’s Javagal Srinath and Nitin Menon have been retained in the elite panel of match referees and umpires by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the 2026-27 international cricket season. The decision to keep the current group of elite officials unchanged follows a thorough annual review and selection process conducted by the ICC’s Umpire Selection Panel. This decision reflects the satisfaction with the strong contributions made by these officials over the past year.
The ICC’s Umpire Selection Panel, led by ICC General Manager – Cricket Wasim Khan, along with other members, reviewed the performances of the officials before deciding to maintain the existing panel. The decision underscores the ICC’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence in officiating. The high standards and consistency demonstrated by the officials during events like the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and men’s bilateral cricket led to their re-selection.
The ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta commended all the members of the panels for their re-selection, emphasizing the quality of decision-making, professionalism, and ability to perform under pressure exhibited by the officials. The continuity in the panel is seen as crucial in upholding the integrity of the game and providing assurance to players, teams, and fans. The officials are expected to build further on their high standards in the upcoming year.
