Karnataka’s BJP and JD(S), along with other opposition parties, are set to protest near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue on Tuesday at 10.30 a.m. Chief Whip of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, N. Ravikumar, stated that the protest aims to condemn the alleged insult to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.
Ravikumar accused the Governor of being insulted inside the Assembly Hall at Vidhana Soudha after the joint session of the legislature. The Opposition plans to demand the immediate suspension of certain Congress members for their behavior.
The Opposition also criticized the Congress-led government for not arresting a party leader accused of using abusive language against a Municipality Commissioner. They demanded swift action in this regard.
Ravikumar raised concerns about the delay in the arrest of a Congress MLA accused of firing at a former minister’s residence. He called for a thorough investigation into the incident and strict action against those responsible.
Referring to a recent murder in Koppal district, Ravikumar condemned a Member of Parliament’s dismissal of the incident as minor. He highlighted the issue of women’s safety in Karnataka and criticized the lack of measures to address it.
The BJP leader also criticized the Congress for misrepresenting amendments to labor laws aimed at creating more job opportunities for rural and daily wage workers. He accused the Congress of spreading misinformation and announced a protest against what he called the party’s deceitful practices.
