Amid ongoing controversy, Karnataka’s Chief Electoral Officer reported that 77.18% of Enumeration Forms have been distributed for the state’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The state currently has 5,54,32,314 electors listed in the roll as of June 16, 2026. Enumeration Forms are being verified through house-to-house enumeration and digitization until July 29.
The Election Department disclosed that 4,27,82,130 Enumeration Forms, equivalent to 77.18% of the total, have been handed out. Additionally, 42,81,521 forms, or 7.72% of the total, have been digitized. Notably, 1,46,143 Enumeration Forms, representing 0.26% of the electorate, have been submitted online by voters.
During the verification process, officials identified various discrepancies, including 1,00,843 electors under the ASDDO category and cases of untraceable or absent electors, those who shifted residence, reported deceased, or enrolled elsewhere. The ongoing revision faced fresh controversy over alleged irregularities, prompting NDA Karnataka leaders to meet with the Chief Election Commissioner in New Delhi to address concerns and demand suspension and re-verification of the process.
A press conference is scheduled at the Chief Electoral Officer’s office in Bengaluru on July 8 to discuss the ongoing Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls. Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbu Kumar will provide updates on the State’s revision process.
