Karolina Muchova claimed the Bad Homburg Open title after Naomi Osaka withdrew from the final due to a foot injury early in the second set. Muchova, the 11th seed in the PIF WTA Rankings, dominated the match, leading 6-1, 1-0 when Osaka decided she could not continue.

From the start, Muchova controlled the game with precise shots and pressure on Osaka’s serve, quickly taking a 4-0 lead. Despite a brief pause when Osaka held serve, Muchova secured the first set 6-1 convincingly.

In the second set, Muchova held her serve comfortably, but Osaka, already receiving medical attention, chose not to proceed. This victory marks Muchova’s first WTA singles title on grass and evens her head-to-head record with Osaka at 3-3.

Osaka, still seeking her first WTA singles title since the 2021 Australian Open, finished as the runner-up for the third consecutive time. She apologized to the spectators for the premature end due to her injury during the trophy ceremony.
